Description
  • A group of six men stand in the interior of a general store stocked with products. Three men stand behind a counter dressed in aprons. In front of the counter are two boys and an older man holding a basket. Shelves stocked with jars and canned food products line the walls. On top of these shelves are stacked cans, boxes, and jars. Behind these products are posters advertising products like Golden West Coffee, and Sperry Flour. Display cases filled with products like tobacco, milk, butter, and bulk products consiting of nuts and grains. On the top of the display cases are stacks of boxed products, canisters of cookies, and a Toldeo brand scale. In the left foreground of the image are fresh fruit and vegetables in sacks and boxes. In the center of the store is a product display consisting of stacked cans of Carnation brand milk, gingerale, and a collection of brooms. Light fixtures hang from the ceiling of the store.

  • Scanned in transmissive mode with Silverfast AI 6.0 on UMAX PowerLook III flatbed scanner (Scanner B). Levels adjusted from 0 - 1.00 - 255 to 20 - 1.00 - 178 prior to capture. Scanned image enters Photoshop with negative polarity and has a reversed orientation. Archived Tiff is saved. Adobe Photoshop used to reorient and crop image, invert image to positive polarity, set and neutralize shadow and highlight point, adjust midtone contrast, and desaturate color information. Second production tiff saved.
